Youth Music, the UK’s leading young people’s music charity, is hosting its second NextGen Community Event – in the heart of Manchester at YES on Wednesday 26th July from 7pm – 10:30pm.

The event celebrates rising musicians with several live performances, intuitive insights from music industry professionals and opportunities to network with other young creatives.

Youth Music aims to create a world where every young person can make, learn and earn in music, whatever their background or goal. As a result, the Youth Music NextGen Fund launched in 2021 to equalise access to the music industries. The fund is especially aimed at those whose lack of finance holds them back from pursuing their goals.

In a recent survey conducted by Youth Music of its NextGen community, 19% of young people stated a lack of industry connections is the bigger barrier they face to pursuing music industry careers. This free event provides a chance for local young creatives to connect with other like-minded people starting out in music, network, and find new collaborators.

The NextGen Community Event will include a panel talk from BBC Radio1xtra presenter Jasmine Rowland, Manchester-based music producer, vocalist, performer and artist, Is33n and Martha Bolton, marketing guru for Defected Records and Glitterbox Ibiza.

Youth Music’s Manchester-based NextGen artists will also be taking centre stage: British Jamaican-born Nigerian Singer-Songwriter B!tez, all-female synth-pop trio Hot Minute, North Manchester representative Meduulla, rapper and producer Superlative and gritty electronic DJ PERiiSU.

Tickets are available via Youth Music’s website here.
