Developer Novo, in partnership with Trafford Council, is building 22 new homes – 10 town houses and 12 apartments – along with a new decked car park, on Brown Street next to the town’s railway station.

More than half of the homes being built are of affordable tenure, six apartments are for shared ownership and another six are shared ownership for over 55s only.

The initial works being undertaken will include setting up the site, followed by a period of ground remediation before the main construction starts.

Novo has held various public consultation events with local residents on the scheme which is expected to be completed in December 2020. People living in the area have also been sent leaflets informing them that the work is due to start.

Trafford Council gave planning permission for the homes and car park, which are being built by construction firm CPUK,  in December last year.
