Work is set to begin later this month on what will Salford’s tallest building after the council’s planning committee approved its plans

Work on One Heritage’s £163m 55-storey Greengate tower was delayed after the developer decided to make some design changes

The 390,000 sq ft skyscraper would be the tallest building in Salford at 173 metres and the second tallest in Greater Manchester behind Deansgate Square’s South Tower, which stands at 200 metres tall.

According to its website, the 55 storey residential development will include one, two and three bedroom apartments, as well as commercial space and major public realm improvements including a scenic river walkway along the Irwell

Thw scheme is expected to be completed in 2025
