A woman on her sixties has died after being hit by a car in Radcliffe on New Year’s Eve.

A man in his sixties was taken to hospital where remains in a critical condition.

The driver of a white Toyota Yaris, a man in his seventies was also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The incident happened on Bury New Road near to the junction of Radcliffe Moor Road around 5.20pm.

Sergeant Lee Westhead, from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time. 

“We continue to offer our support to them whilst we try and ascertain the exact circumstances behind this tragic collision.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed anything, or saw the car before the collision, to please call us.”
