Independent Manchester art gallery Contemporary Six is holding a joint exhibition of brand new art work by its specially selected gallery artists this December.

New paintings by well-known Manchester artist Liam Spencer will be on display, as well as a number of oil paintings from a highly acclaimed painter based in Cornwall, Richard Cook, and abstract artist Matthew Bourne — just to name a few.

The winter exhibition features a piece by artist Billy Childish, entitled ‘Man on Chairs (version X)’, painted in 2012. There are also a number of new Welsh landscape paintings by admired oil painter Anne Aspinall, as well as several evocative paintings by Northern artist David Bez.

Alongside the original artworks, the gallery also has a fantastic selection of prints by well-known Northern artists Rob Wilson, Chris Cyprus and Ann Lewis, which would make perfect Christmas gifts.

Art-lovers are invited to join gallery owner Alex Reuben for mulled wine and mince pies on Sunday, December 9, any time between 11am and 5pm.

Alex said: “2018 has been a wonderful year for us: we’ve welcomed numerous new artists to the gallery and run four ambitious exhibitions for artists Chris Cyprus, Anne Aspinall, Norman Long, and latterly Michael Ashcroft, as well as a number of successful smaller exhibitions — all with superb turn-outs.

“We’ve welcomed countless new clients and collectors to the gallery, held talks and events, and our efforts have been rewarded with two nominations for Northern Soul Awards.

“We have a lot planned for 2019 and we cannot wait to reveal our plans. This Winter Gathering marks a celebration of our achievements over the year, and a thank you to our artistic community in Manchester.”

Contemporary Six is now open every day of the week during December.
