Wild Turkey, the authentic American bourbon, is launching a series of events – the Wild Turkey 101s – giving you the classic skills to make the most of modern life. Experts will be on hand at Cane & Grain to share the expertise and classic skills. The restaurant and bar, located in the Northern Quarter, is the perfect place to enjoy a Wild Turkey 101.
The Wild Turkey 101s make these skills look effortless, but all it takes is time, patience and learning from the best. These are the mantras of Wild Turkey’s Master Distillers Jimmy and Eddie Russell, who have been keeping up pre-Prohibition traditions of making Wild Turkey the right way at the distillery for a combined 101 years between them. The result is a distinctive high rye content in Wild Turkey 101, which is key to the perfect Old Fashioned – ensuring its bold flavour sings out beyond the citrus twist of this American classic.

Let Cane & Grain’s expert bartenders give you a masterclass on how to make the Wild Turkey 101 Old Fashioned. Making an Old Fashioned can seem like an impossible challenge, but with the right teacher on hand you’ll see how easy it can be.
Sauces & Rubs 101s + BBQ&A
Thursday 9th August, 7pm, £25pp
Cane & Grain chefs will teach you how to make rubs and marinades like a BBQ boss, before revealing more tricks of the trade at a Q&A session. You’ll get to try the rubs and sauces (all of which contain Wild Turkey 101, naturally) and you’ll even get to take a bottle of your
favourite sauce home! Also included in the price is a range of bar bites and three BBQinspired, fat-washed Wild Turkey cocktails, the Smoked Beef Rib Manhattan, Brisket Old Fashioned and the Maple Butter Bourbon Highball.
Washing & Infusions Wild Turkey 101s
Sunday 29th August, 7pm, Free
Fat-washed cocktails may sound like mixologist magic, but this Wild Turkey 101 will show you what’s involved and how to replicate Cane & Grain’s scientific approach to cocktail making in your own home. From the Smoked Beef Rib Manhattan, and the Brisket Old Fashioned to the Maple Butter Bourbon Highball, you’ll get to make – and try – them all.
This also marks the launch of Cane & Grain’s Cocktail Infusion menu, with live music, bar bites and, for the first 15 to arrive, a free Wild Turkey 101 Old Fashioned!
The Wild Turkey Sessions
Sundays until 12th August, 8pm, Free
Held just above Cane & Grain, in Science & Industry, there will be live music every Sunday night. Acoustic bands will rotate on a weekly basis, but the real star of the show will be the Wild Turkey 101 Old Fashioned. With a third off the classic cocktail all night, bring your friends and let the music transport you Stateside.
