Over the next two months Mancunians and guests alike can look forward to a host of exciting events and unusual creative workshops at The Alan, a new design-led hotel, bar and restaurant located on Manchester’s vibrant Princess Street.

The 18th May sees The Alan celebrating World Whiskey Day with a bespoke five-course tasting dinner experience curated by head chef Iain Thomas, with each dish paired with an award winning whiskey from Irish distillery Sailor’s Home.

Diners are set to sample a selection of seasonal and local food produce complimented by tutored drink pairings of four world class whiskies presented by Sailor’s Home expert Jody Monteith. Dishes set to send shockwaves through the tastebuds on the night include Baked oysters, Hay Baked Gatehouse Farm Lamb and Nana Betty’s Rhubarb Dessert.

Tickets for this one-of-a-kind event are priced at £45pp and available to purchase here.

Creative souls can sign up for a wellbeing focused Macrame Workshop, taking place on the 3rd June and hosted by local art event specialists Cotton On MCR. Attendees will learn how to make a stylish modern Macrame wall hanging whilst enjoying nibbles and a complimentary drink upon arrival. Tickets are priced at £40pp and are available to purchase here.

This class is the first in a series of upcoming ‘Makers Tables Workshops’, which will see The Alan offering a wide range of creative and wellbeing focused events including terrarium building, drawing and many more – keep your eyes peeled on the website for details of future events.

The Alan is now open at 18 Princess St, Manchester M1 4LG. Bookings can be made online here.
