Wigan manager Leam Richardson stressed the importance of learning in defeat after they were beaten 3-1 by Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon. 

Charlie Wyke’s first goal of the season led to a late rally from Latics after goals from Callum Robinson and Sheyi Ojo had given the visitors a two-goal lead, but a stoppage-time free-kick from Ryan Wintle sealed the victory for the Bluebirds. 

Speaking to Latics TV,he said “The most disappointing thing is how we started the game. It was not like us at all, and we always want to impose ourselves on the game very early on.

“It’s important that we learn. Another fantastic football club is coming to ours in Blackburn Rovers (on Tuesday), so we’ll digest (and learn from) today.

Bolton’s Kieran Lee admited his side need to raise their game again to get over the double disappointment of back-to-back away defeats.
