Rochdale MP, Tony Lloyd, is raising awareness for voter registration and encouraging people to ensure they are registered to vote ahead of the May local elections.

Tony said, “Everyone should be able to have their say on polling day, so it’s important that anyone who isn’t yet registered, or who has recently moved house, registers to vote. If you haven’t registered to vote for the upcoming elections in May, please consider doing so. It’s simple to do, and it only takes a few minutes when you do it online.”

People wishing to register to vote in the May local elections must do so by 11:59pm on Thursday the 14th of April.

You can register online in just five minutes. You will need to give your name, address, date of birth and national insurance number. You can find your national insurance number on documents such as payslips, letters about benefits and tax returns.
