Pop-up urban obstacle course Unite & Conquer, is heading to New Bailey, Salford on 21 June and is on the lookout for teams to take on the challenge.

The eight-part course will see teams of four stepping out of their comfort zones and taking on heights, caves and heart rate-raising challenges, with all profits raised going to local charity, Forever Manchester, to support a range of community activities across Greater Manchester.

The team at Forever Manchester work with local people in communities to inspire and encourage projects they want to see, to make their neighbourhoods happier and safer places to be.

A warm-up session led by a dedicated instructor will kick-start the day, and then the games will begin. Challenges including the 30ft leap of faith, assault course, the zone, 40ft high tower, the 6ft military-style wall, the low-hanging net, blindfolded tyre run and mind the gap will test teams’ endurance, strength and stamina. The course will take roughly an hour to complete, with up to 50 teams able to take part throughout the day. A prize will be awarded to the team who finishes in the fastest time.

The whole Unite & Conquer obstacle course will take place at New Bailey, located just across the bridge from Spinningfields on the banks of the River Irwell and a stone’s throw from Salford Central train station.

Phil Mayall, regional director at The English Cities Fund, said: “We’re excited to be bringing the Unite & Conquer concept to New Bailey and give local businesses an opportunity to step away from their desks for some competitive fun and do team-building exercises with a difference,  all in aid of a local cause that benefits each and every resident across Greater Manchester.

“This course isn’t for the faint hearted, but we expect many people to rise to the challenge in the name of teamwork and endurance. Even if you’re not taking part, we’d encourage anyone to come along to cheer on friends and colleagues from the dedicated viewing platform.”

For those taking part in Unite & Conquer, the day will begin at 8:45am and finish around 5.30pm.

The fee to enter is £125 per team, with a reduced early bird and friends of New Bailey discounted rate of £99 plus booking fee, using the code SMASHIT99.

New Bailey is being delivered by The English Cities Fund, a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal & General and Homes England. The scheme is at a monumental phase in its development with four projects currently under construction, including office schemes Two New Bailey Square, Riverside House and 3 New Bailey, as well as the third phase of residential development at The Slate Yard.
