This Sunday, 20 November, a selection of the UK’s finest music acts will play Manchester’s Sound Control for a very special one day festival, in celebration of Chris Glaba, a young man from Sale recently diagnosed with stomach, liver and kidney cancer and given just a few months to live.
Kicking off at 2pm the aptly named Glabstonbury will be a full day of live music and DJ’s at the city centre venue on New Wakefield St.
Brit alternative rock band Maximo Park will headline with support from The Views Kyle Falconer, performing an exclusive acoustic set, The Sunshine Underground (DJ set), Happy Monday’s legend Bez and Chris Helme of The Seahorses.
A host of other DJ’s and acts also form part of the solid Sunday line-up which promises to give party and music-loving Chris a day to remember.
The event comes after Chris’ sister launched a bucket list appeal to ensure her brother got the chance to live life to the fullest in his last few months.
A raffle hosted by the legendary Bez on the day will see a huge selection of amazing prizes up for grabs, with all proceeds going directly to Macmillan.
Raffle prizes include tickets to see The Courteeners at the Etihad Stadium, VIP Kendall Calling, Hideout Croatia and Kendall Calling tickets and a host of other exclusive merchandise and goodies.
A small selection of tickets are now on sale to the public, priced at £20 each, with all proceeds going directly to Macmillan and Chris’ bucket list.
