Police and other emergency services have responded to reports of two stabbing incidents in Manchester Piccadilly Gardens this afternoon.

At approximately 12:10 police were called to the area near Morrisons. One of the victims was treated at the scene of the crime for minor injuries and the second victim has been taken to the hospital with, what is expected to be, non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made but a member of the police has said that it is believed that the attack was targetted and the threat would not spread to the wider public.

The incident has led to some road closures which has effected some First Bus routes.
