Two men, aged 24 and 28, have on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life after shots were fired at a property on Wally Square, Salford.

Police say that a man walked up to a property before discharging the firearm, after arriving on an electric bike with another man.

One woman in her 20s received a minor injury during the incident, although the exact cause of this is still being determined.

Detective Inspector Louise Edwards, from GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “Any report of a firearms discharge is shocking and is something that will never be tolerated on the streets of Greater Manchester.

“We have been working at pace since Thursday and we now have made two arrests as part of our enquiries. Further work is to be completed in the coming hours and days.

“While we are still establishing the exact circumstances, this was a dangerous act that could have resulted in a much worse or deadly outcome. No-one should feel unsafe or threatened in their own homes, and we are working to ensure those responsible face justice.”
