Two people have been arrested after takeaway delivery driver – a man in his 40s was robbed at knifepoint when he attended an address to make a delivery.

The robbery took place on Lion Fold Lane mid morning yesterday in North Manchester

Police later located two men, both aged 19, and arrested them on suspicion of robbery. They remain in custody for questioning.

Inspector Michelle Buchanan, of GMP’s North Manchester district, said: “Robbery is a heinous crime that can leave people feeling vulnerable and unsafe in their own community.

“It’s clear that this attack was carefully planned by the offenders. Thankfully, in this case, the delivery driver was not injured.

“These arrests reaffirm our commitment to reducing crime and anti-social behaviour in our area and this is only a small percentage of the work our officers do on a daily basis to keep people safe.

“I would encourage anyone with issues or information into criminal activity in your area to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
