Three teenage boys have today been sentenced for their parts in the death of 14-year-old Ibrahima Seck last summer.

A 14-year-old boy, convicted of murdering Ibrahima on 22 December 2025 after a month-long trial at Manchester Crown Court, will be detained for 11 years and 10 months in a young offender institution.

A second 14-year-old boy will be detained for two years and four months and a 17-year-old boy for two years and 10 months for their roles in Ibrahima’s death in Moston.

The two boys were convicted of manslaughter last December.

Keri Dobson aged 37 of Warbeck Road, Moston, and Naomi Heavens aged 39of Kenyon Lane, Moston, were handed 12-month suspended sentences having been convicted of assisting an offender.

This sentencing follows an horrific incident on 8 June 2025 that resulted in Ibrahima being stabbed while on his way to play football.

Ibrahima and his friends were approached by the two 14‑year‑olds and a 16‑year‑old boy, who is now 17, when a fight broke out.

Ibrahima was chased into the Fairways Inn Pub car park, where one of the 14‑year‑olds fatally stabbed him. All three aggressors fled the scene.

Ibrahima suffered significant injuries but managed to reach a nearby house on Nevin Road to ask for help, where he named his attacker to those who tried to assist him.

Residents administered first aid until paramedics arrived, but Ibrahima sadly died in hospital a short time later.
Ibrahima’s father, Mamadou Seck and family, said after today’s sentences: “Ibrahima was a very nice boy. He was not at all a bad person.

“Every person in the world would like Ibrahima if they met him. He was smiling all the time, always wanting to help. He is an innocent person. Why Ibrahima?

“He was funny, caring, and hard-working. He was our best friend, and he looked after me.

“He was so smiley and always made everybody laugh. He was a good boy. They have not only killed Ibrahima but the whole family and all those people who loved him. Why would anyone do this to him? He did nothing wrong.”
