Three people have been charged following a series of violent robberies that took place in Manchester Northern Quarter in the space of a few hours

Police received seven separate reports of robberies occurring focussed on the Northern Quarter in the early hours of Sunday 5th January.

Victims, aged between 20 and 60, were approached by three men before being assaulted and having personnel possessions stolen.

Samuel Cretu aged 21 of Alton Street, Oldham has been charged with four counts of robbery, one count of assault and one count of conspiring to commit fraud and false representation.

Adionut Cretu also 21 of Alton Street, Oldham has been charged with four counts of robbery, one count of assault and one count of conspiring to commit fraud and false representation.

A 15-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons has been charged with four counts of robbery, one count of assault and one count of conspiring to commit fraud and false representation.

All three people have been remanded in custody and will appear before Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court today.
