Having opened the city’s first dedicated venue for afternoon tea with the Tea Room, The Midland is now shaking up its offering by adding a new menu to the fold – brunch.

Providing the same classic experience, with the elegance of its Midland-branded bone china, white tablecloths and beautiful cake stands, brunch will offer up a twist to its afternoon tea counterpart, serving up mini portions of dishes such as waffle with crispy streaky bacon and maple syrup, baked eggs with chorizo, spinach and portabella mushrooms and Brioche French toast with cinnamon to name but a few.

Available every day from 10.30am-1.30pm, brunch will be £19 per person. For those who’d like to add a mid-morning cocktail or two, there is also an option to enjoy a bottomless brunch with a choice of Prosecco, Mimosa, Bloody Mary, Bellini, beer and lager for an additional £20 per person.

A stalwart on the Manchester social scene since the hotel opened in 1903, The Midland’s afternoon tea has been a mainstay on the menu for over a century. Brunch is a step away from the traditional offering and makes further use of this one of a kind Tea Room, providing guests with fantastic views across St Peter’s Square while they tuck into pancakes, granola and scrambled eggs.

Jens Hallman, General Manager at The Midland, said: “The Tea Room is a fantastic space and incredibly popular for afternoon teas, so introducing a brunch menu made total sense. We’re really excited about this – it’s something totally different, there isn’t anywhere else in Manchester that offers brunch in this format on a daily basis. It gives you a little bit of everything you might want from a brunch, with the option to enjoy a mid-morning cocktail if the mood takes you!”

Brunch at the Tea Room and Midland Bar can be booked online via www.tearoomatthemidland.co.uk. Walk-ins are also welcomed.
