Manchester’s 5-star hotel, The Lowry Hotel, has launched a brand-new Autumn inspired menu featuring flavoursome dishes to feel the soul throughout winter – with pies, pigeon and prawns on the menu.

The River Restaurant’s new autumnal menu has been carefully curated by Executive Chef, Dave Ashton, with a particular focus on using locally sourced produce, combined with rich and spiced flavours to warm hearts this winter.

Swapping out light summer flavours, the new menu promises to tantalise tastebuds and offers a five-star autumnal dining experience like no other.

For starters, the new menu features the likes of truffle and sweetcorn ravioli, chicken and mushroom demi pie with Lancashire Bomb custard – a wonderfully creamy Northern-inspired cheese sauce, miso crab with pickled lemon sorbet & sea herbs and Squab Pigeon served with a pear, hazelnut, artichoke crisp.

For main course, the menu offers Cheshire Farm lamb served with curds and whey and sweet potato terrine, a showstopping Fillet Steak served with Gambero Rosso Prawns served with truffle mash and red wine garlic puree and Merryfield Farm duck breast served with a deep-red jus of beetroot, plum and 12-year-old balsamic.

And if you still have room at the end of the evening, Dave Ashton’s famous Crown Prince pumpkin is back on the menu, following huge customer demand. The sweet treat is served with all the flavours of autumn – nutmeg brulee, dark chocolate and stem ginger.

Dave Ashton, Executive Chef at The Lowry Hotel’s River Restaurant said, “Autumn is my favourite time of the year, cooking hearty dishes that really feed the heart and soul.

I love using spices, rich flavours and locally sourced produce to create dishes with a twist. The Cheshire Farm lamb is my favourite dish on this year’s menu, it’s one of my classic recipes and is always a crowd pleaser, the meat is tender and cooked to perfection.

After popular demand, my famous Crown Prince Pumpkin is back on the menu and is not one to be missed if you’re looking for a dessert that promises to hit the sweet spot.”

The Autumn menu is available to dine now until January at The Lowry Hotel River Restaurant.
