Northern Quarter’s famous Tiki dive bar and Polynesian paradise, The Liars Lounge has launched its new summer cocktail menu.

A late-night den of debauchery, and located  on the top floor of Cane & Grain, The Liars Lounge is known for being the second incarnation of the award-winning Tiki bar and Caribbean rum shop, The Liars Club.

The new summer cocktail menu showcases some original cocktails. As well as getting a new menu, The Liars Lounge has undergone a revamp, just in time to for you to devour  these great creations.

In true Liars style, the mixologists from Manchester’s local oasis have designed an exciting selection of rum-fuelled cocktails sending us straight up to Tiki heaven. The Liars Lounge menu is composed of three sections “New Releases”, “Club Bangers” and “Greatest Hits”.

The “New Releases” features drinks that have been developed in-house and are exclusively available at The Liars Lounge.  Get to work on finding your favourite with highlights include Shaman’s Brew, light and refreshing but still full on flavour – a combination of the officers’ tipple of choice, Martell VS Cognac, sweetened with amaretto, a dash of Aromatic Earl Grey syrup, double-whack of lemon and lime, splash of ginger beer and velvet falernum. The Copa Banana – Down at the Copa… Copa Banana – tastes like a mix of Christmas and Foam Bananas. A majestic tiki head full of tropical, fruity goodness.

“Club Bangers” are the ultimate Tiki cocktails, renowned favourites from The Liars Club menu, they have now been pinched and added to The Liars Lounge’s menu so you’ll never have to miss out on your favourite Liars cocktail again. Featuring the “Double Shot Coconut Latte” a choco-coco caffeine explosion of Blackwell’s rum, creme de cacao, coconut milk, cream and coffee.

The last category of Liars Lounge menu is the “Greatest Hits”, classic Tiki drinks that no Tiki bar would be complete without. Naturally featuring, the infamous Zombie, made from a blend of various super-strength rums – absinthe, velvet falernum and cherry brandy – and a mix of exotic fruit juices.

Summer is on its way, so escape into your local tropical hideaway – and don’t miss these new releases:

Shaman’s Brew – Cast a spell, make a wishThrowing a curve-ball at popular Tiki tradition and starting out with the officers’ tipple of choice; Martell VS Cognac, and sweetened with amaretto. Aromatic Earl Grey syrup provides backbone and a floral citrus hit, alongside the double-whack of lemon and lime juices. Finishing off with a splash of spicy ginger beer and velvet falernum (a boozy, lime and clove cordial), the Shaman’s Brew is light and refreshing, but still full-on on flavour.

Copa Banana – Down at the Copa… Copa Banana. Tastes like a mix of Christmas and those Foam Bananas you had as a kid. A majestic tiki head full of tropical, fruity goodness. A double hit of banana and vanilla liqueurs, wrapped up with cloudy apple juice and demerara syrup. The addition of the recently released Amaro di Angostura gives a heady hit of rich spice – cutting through the sweetness of the liqueurs alongside fresh lemon juice. Finished with edible flowers and a handful of banana chips, just in case you are peckish!

Beachbum Cherry  Pop ya’ Rum Punch cherry. Built around two rums – the rich, warming Chairman’s Reserve Spiced and funky Appleton Estate Signature, alongside the unique flavour of Acerola (Bajan Cherry to you and I). Lengthened with fresh lime and orange, balanced with Angostura Bitters and finished with a float of Aperol – The sublime, sunset-hued Beachbum is perfect for “wishful drinking”. Just close your eyes and dream of perfect turquoise waters waved back on white sand…

Treacle Matter – It’s not sh*t. Contrary to most tropical cocktails, the Treacle in its original form is a basic blend of good rum and cheap apple juice – and boozy as hell! They have given it an upgrade, with delicious cloudy apple – paired with salted caramel and vanilla, not one but TWO rums (Bacardi Cuatro and Bacardi Ocho) along with Angostura and Peychaud’s bitters to add richness, depth and balance.
