A new craft pub in Sale is preparing to open its doors for the first time this week, following a £300,000 investment.
Situated canal-side, the pub on School Road takes the name the Block and Gasket, with a nod to the engines that power the nearby barges on the Bridgewater Canal. It will welcome customers for the first time from 8am on Tuesday 13th October and will create six new jobs for local people.
Open weekdays from 8am and weekends from 10am, The Block and Gasket will serve a superb selection of breakfast dishes and freshly brewed coffee. Designed to appeal as the perfect daytime meeting point, or base from which to work or relax, the pub’s menu is packed full of contemporary pub dishes with a twist. From a range of snacks and light bites to fresh salads, grilled dishes, burgers or pub favourites, the pub has every dining occasion covered. British pub classic, the pie, features heavily with a large range to choose from, including Beef and Chorizo, Ham Hock or a tasty Leek and Mustard. Sundays will be devoted to the great British roast, with a selection of quality meats, all cooked fresh and served with seasonal vegetables.
The pub opens with an excellent beer range. Eight craft and four cask ale handpulls offer the choice and variety for the beer enthusiast. The pubwill source national and local beers, stocking Meantime Pale Ale, Brewdog Punk IPA and Longhorn IPA craft beers from opening and a specially brewed ‘Block & Gasket Ale’ by Burnley based Moorhouses Brewery. World beers, lagers and premium wines, as well as cocktails which are available at two for the price of one all day, every day, mean excellent choice for all.
The Block and Gasket will be hosting regular activities and promotions throughout the week including showing the big sporting fixtures via its large screen and five HD TVs, all linked to SKY and BT Sport. Customers can enjoy a free pint with their pie or burger during Monday’s ‘Pie and Pint’ promotion or Tuesday’s ‘Crafty Burger’ day. Wednesdays become ‘Craft Pint Day’ whilst Thursday will be Quiz Night. Kicking off the weekend in style, The Block and Gasket will host DJ-led party nights every Friday and Saturday, welcoming customers back for sport on Sundays.
