A teenager has been taken to hospital for treatment with potentially life-threatening injuries after a stabbing in Cheetham Hill this afternoon

Police put a Section 60 in place following the incident on Woodlands Road close to the Abraham Moss tram stop until 10am Wednesday 12 November, giving officers extra powers to stop and search individuals in the area.

Sergeant Anthony Dickinson, GMP’s North District, said: “We attended reports of a stabbing at Woodlands Road at around 4:10pm today.

“A teenage boy has been stabbed in the leg and has been taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

“You will notice an increase of officers in the area as they continue to conduct enquiries and offer community reassurance.

“If you have any information or concerns with anything, please do speak with an officer”.
