All was merry and bright on the wards of Manchester’s hospitals last week as staff from the baby and children’s wards took a surprise, bumper delivery of baby and children’s skincare goodies – all delivered in stealth by Santa’s little helpers, the Childs Farm team.

Visiting Royal Albert Edward Infirmary Wigan, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, and Royal Oldham Hospital, the gifts brought smiles to the faces of children and parents spending the festive period in hospital.

The Christmas delivery came courtesy of baby and child toiletries brand Childs Farm. On a mission to spread the festive cheer this month, the team will be jingling all the way up and down the country’s hospitals and children’s hospices, armed with hundreds of bags of moisturisers, colouring books and muslins, to cheer up those that can’t be at home at this special time of year.

Philippa Boyd, Community Fundraising Officer on behalf of Royal Manchester Hospital said: “We really appreciate the generosity of Childs Farm, and the team’s consideration for the children in hospital over the Christmas period. It’s obviously very tough to be away from home at Christmas and these gifts have definitely helped to bring a smiles to the children’s faces.”

Childs Farm uses naturally derived ingredients and essential oils to produce a range of mild, kind and delicious-smelling toiletries that cares for the hair and skin of newborns, babies and children.

Childs Farm was set up in 2010 by entrepreneur Joanna Jensen as a solution for her own two daughters’ sensitive skin and fly-away hair. The brand works to educate and support mums to do the right thing for their children’s skin, whether it’s normal, sensitive or even eczema-prone.

Childs Farm founder Joanna Jensen said: “We know of the incredible work happening in Manchester and Greater Manchester hospitals, so we were delighted to pay them a visit; if we can help to put smiles on the faces of staff, parents, babies and children, then our Christmas mission is accomplished!

“At Childs Farm, we are motivated by the ethos that no child should be left out, and particularly at such a special time of year. We’re hoping to give the gift of making bath time a little more fun for everyone this Christmas.”
