The Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has insisted the Government will ‘defeat the decline and division offered by others’ in his New Year’s message.
He said he shared the frustration at the pace of change but admitted that “for many, life is still harder than it should be” and they had been left without the money for a “meal out” or “a holiday” or a “chance to make a special family moment extra special”.
He acknowledged life is still “harder than it should be” for many Britons but promised more people will begin to feel “a sense of hope” in the coming months.
