Creative out-of-home agency Jack Arts is supporting a weekend of thoughtfully curated art interventions and free events in Manchester on 12th and 13th October bringing together a wide range of voices to consider ways of intervening in and changing, city life.

Social Surfaces +0161 will combine urban artists, visual activists and street culture scholars, for a free programme of walks, workshops, talks, films and street displays exploring how our cities ‘talk’ to us, with us, and about us.

The programme of events will coincide with a city-wide takeover of a selection of Jack Arts outdoor poster sites, filling the streets with bespoke art – including live drawing from Oliver East at Deansgate Locks, artwork by Manchester Metropolitan University Photography and Illustration graduates, and artwork from internationally renowned artists including Miss Printed, Carrie Reichardt, Simon Roberts, Jan Vormann and more. The city-wide street display will be live between the 4th and 17th October.

The events programme includes a pop-up Street Art and Graffiti Book/Zine Fair, with an exclusive paste-up and sticker sale of work from top urban-artists including DMstff, Heath Kane, Motley Creator, Olly Studio, Subvertiser, and many more to raise money for the Love For The Streets.
