Police have arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life following s suspected arson attack at a property on South Terrace last Sunday
He remains in custody for questioning.
The arrest follows the first arrest made on Friday of a man in his 40s for arson with intent to endanger life. He also remains in custody.
Chief Inspector Andy Wright from Bury district said: “Our investigations have led us to arrest a second suspect in relation to this incident.
“We have been working hard to establish the full facts, we are continuing to keep an open mind but want to reassure the community of Bury that we will leave no stone unturned.
“If anyone has any information about this incident, please come forward. This includes anyone who witnessed the incident or have any CCTV/dashcam footage.
