Salvi’s has announced a brand-new eclectic Italian food hub taking in a restaurant, bar, deli and exhibition space within, luxury development, Deansgate Square, as the family run Manchester favourite celebrates its 10th year in the city.
Opening this winter in a 3,000 sq ft unit within the flagship scheme, complete with a weather protected and heated terrace providing year-round outdoor and indoor dining, Salvi’s will bring an authentic slice of southern Italy to the southern end of Deansgate.
The latest addition to the Salvi’s family will draw upon generations of culinary knowledge as it takes inspiration from each of its existing sites, as well as owner Maurizio Cecco’s native Naples; much of its offering will be based on original family recipes created by his mother, Nonna Teresa, that have helped make the well-loved restaurant group a Manchester institution.
As 2021 marks 10 years since Maurizio and his wife Claire spotted a gap in the English market for authentic, high quality Italian produce and opened their deli in the Corn Exchange, Salvi’s will reveal a whole new look and feel as it launches its newest venue.
Designed in collaboration with AXI Studio, the space will create a ‘third place’ for residents and guests who will be welcomed with Salvi’s now famous Italian-Mancunian warmth.
Salvi’s will also offer up a variety of cuisine, from gelato to pizza via cicchetti, all alongside Italian wines, beers, spritz and a deli for takeaway ‘sfizio’, a special little treat, while the dining area will feature an outdoor private dining room – the first of its kind in the city – which will be available to book for events, private dinners and Maurizio’s ever-popular pasta making classes.
The 10th year celebrations will also take in the introduction of an all-new Salvi’s brand, having already seen the hugely successful return of Festa Italiana after a Covid-enforced year off.

Deansgate Square gives us the opportunity to bring together all the best aspects of Salvi’s, plus we can now roll out some new ideas that we’re really excited about.”
The announcement follows the successful openings of Atomeca and General Stores at Deansgate Square.
Comprising 1,508 spacious apartments across four carefully designed towers, Deansgate Square delivers another level of city centre living to Manchester and, in 2020, launched its amenities offering ‘The Club’, the first of its kind for a residential development in the UK. This means residents are able to enjoy their own private pool, spa, gym and fitness studios and sports hall – with The Gallery business and lounge spaces now open to residents too.
The Italian food hub at Deansgate Square joins Salvi’s’ already impressive venue portfolio made up of the Deli in the Corn Exchange selling high quality, authentic Italian produce and the Mozzarella Bar & Restaurant downstairs, as well as Salvi’s NQ on High Street in the Northern Quarter.
