Frederick Road in Salford will reopen on the 18th of December to both vehicles and pedestrians, following a closure to enable essential construction across the carriageway as part of Salford Rise, a key element of the Crescent Salford masterplan.
Eric Wright Civil Engineering has completed works ahead of schedule, ensuring the road can reopen in time for Christmas.
The road closed on the 12th of July for the construction of the 220m elevated walkway, which will provide a traffic-free route over the road for pedestrians and cyclists and improve community connectivity.
Salford Rise will unlock the potential of Crescent Innovation, improve accessibility, encourage active travel and facilitate employment and education opportunities across the Crescent area. It is on track to complete in Summer 2026.
The £2.5bn, 240-acre Crescent Salford masterplan is being delivered by the Crescent Partnership, formed of Salford City Council, the University of Salford and ECF.
