The Irishman has opted for a move to the Peninsula Stadium amongst competition from a number of clubs, and arrives from Fleetwood Town for an undisclosed fee.

With eight goals and three assists in 24 League Two appearances this season, the 26-year-old is in good form amongst the top marksmen in the division.

Ryan started his career in his native Republic of Ireland with Bohemians, and had spells at Bray Wanderers, Longford Town and Derry City before moving across to England to sign for Fleetwood in 2023 where he has scored 25 goals with 11 assists.

“I’m just delighted to get it over the line, to be here and ready to go, I’m looking forward to it.” he told the club’s website adding

“When I saw the main objective and the plans for the next few years that was massive for me, so the objective for the rest of the season now is to get out of this league and promoted to League One.

“It’s a great squad, you can see why they’re doing so well and it’s a big reason why I came, to push on. I’m buzzing to get out in front of the fans, show them what I can do, and hopefully bring them success.”
