Manchester’s own Reserve Wines is celebrating its 20th anniversary in style, with a series of special events set to take place across its sites in West Didsbury, Altrincham Market, Bents Garden & Home, Mackie Mayor, and at Picturedrome in Macclesfield during the winter season.
To mark the occasion, the Reserve Wines family will be treating its faithful following to an exclusive 20th anniversary tasting event, a private birthday party for loyal customers, festive masterclasses, and collaborations with renowned winemakers.
On Thursday 9th November there will be a private birthday celebration for loyal customers at Reserve Wines, Didsbury, the Winter Wine Fair at Didsbury Sports Ground, with over 100 wines and spirits to taste, will take place on Thursday 16th November, and a 20th anniversary tasting event, taking you on an exploration of Reserve Wines Didsbury’s best sellers will be happening the very next day on Friday 17th November.
Thursday 23rd November will see Reserve Wines Didsbury host a Christmas wines special, plus there will be drop in tastings across the Reserve Wines sites throughout December, and for the full festive experience there will be mulled wine tastings while you shop at the Bents Garden & Home and Didsbury shops.
In addition to the event series, there will be a competition giving away a case of Domaine Landreau, Cremant de Loire Brut NV to commemorate 20 years of the brand and partnering with Didsbury House Hotel and Didsbury Flower Lounge e for a special birthday bundle worth over £400 for one lucky person, so keep your eye on the Reserve Wines social media channels for all the details.
For the Christmas season, Reserve has launched its festive favourites; a selection of warming reds for cosy nights including a newly updated Rioja range, driven by a customer tasting group, wonderful, fresh malbecs and pre-made gifts including a Premium Red Wine Duo, showcasing The Glorioso Reserva Rioja from Spain – smooth and rich with aromas of ripe red fruits, vanilla and spices alongside the Amie Rouge Carignan from Southern France, a juicy and fruity wine with pure notes of blackberry, plum and pepper.
You’ll also find some tried and tested bottles, including festive fizz, alcohol free options, extensive port range and gift sets for red, white and mixed wines, alongside a selection of fine wines and rare vintages.
Founded by wine merchant and TV presenter Kate Goodman, Reserve Wines has emerged as an award-winning independent wine merchant with six sites across Manchester and the Northwest, including three wine bars and an online shop.
The brand was born out of an intimidating visit to a local wine shop and, determined to create a friendly and inspiring community around wine and give customers a really good time, Kate opened her first shop in leafy West Didsbury back in 2003.
In the early days, Kate turned to YouTube to share her expertise and make learning about wine fun. She was scouted by the BBC, who invited her to be the wine expert for their Food and Drink Programme. Working alongside world famous chefs such as Michel Roux Jnr means there’s not much Kate doesn’t know about how to perfectly pair wine with food.
Reserve Wines will always be proud of its Mancunian roots, and the big dream is to become the nation’s favourite indie wine company and although it is growing, it is still fiercely independent and committed to great service.
