Lancashire’s squad have departed for Spain this morning for the first of two warm-weather training camps where they will be based at Desert Springs.

The squad, led by Assistant Head Coach Mark Chilton and Director of Medical Services David Roberts, will spend five days at the Desert Springs Cricket Academy before returning to Emirates Old Trafford on Sunday 11 February.

The players will have a specific and carefully planned programme with a number training sessions each day covering technical skills, bowling and batting, fielding practice as well as strength and conditioning as preparations step up ahead of the 2018 season.

All sessions will be taking place outside where Desert Springs have developed excellent pitches, outfields and net facilities.

The players and coaches will be accommodated in some of the privately-owned Villas and Apartments at Desert Springs and the resort’s executive chef will be on hand to cater for the special dietary requirements of individual players dining in the Crocodile Club Restaurant.

Almanzora Group Sales & Marketing Manager, Simon Coaker added, “Since their inaugural visit in 2013, Lancashire CCC have become a regular visitor to Desert Springs Resort and we are delighted to be welcoming them back once again this year for their pre-season winter training camps.”
