Queens of Archive is a slow fashion brand, founded and run by friends Nicola Orme and Sarah Plunkett.
Created and launched in lockdown last year, the brand produces timeless, easy-to-wear pieces that are produced in limited edition, small runs. The new business has roots in Manchester and Ireland, with Nicola, originally from Chester and having studied fashion at Manchester Met, now based in Belfast and Sarah Plunkett, originally from Dublin now based in Manchester.
The fashion brand has enjoyed a great initial reaction among both customers and celebrities. Music and style of the 60s and 70s is a huge influence on the direction of design, and this connection continues with artists such as Self Esteem, Black Honey, Nadine Shah, The Staves and Lauren Mayberry of Chvrches all being fans. Other known names to embrace Queens of Archive dresses include Laura Whitmore, AJ Odudu, Sara Pascoe and Sharon Horgan to name a few.
With little opportunity to present their styles directly to their customers since launching, Queens of Archive are delighted to be holding a Pop-Up shop in Manchester, their spiritual home and location for their first ever photoshoot.
It will be the first time customers and supporters can explore the brand’s styles, including the new collection in the flesh and meet the women behind the brand.
