The death of a woman in Swinton is no longer being treated as suspicious by police.

The body of a woman, believed to be in her 40s, was found in a car outside an address on Bolbury Crescent on Monday evening.

A 44-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released with no further action following the Home Office Post Mortem examination. This proved there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.

Detective Inspector Chris Mannion, of GMP’s Salford borough, said: “Dedicated officers have followed extensive lines of enquiry following the death of this woman but we are no longer treating this as a murder investigation.

“Our thoughts remain with the woman’s family at what is an incredibly sad time.”
