GMP’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) are investigating reports of two rapes on a victim in Manchester from August and December 2023.
They have released an image of the suspect who we would like to speak with in connection to these assaults.
In August 2023, the victim was approached by a male, he was physically aggressive towards her and then raped her. The same suspect approached her again in December 2023 and after a brief interaction, he again became aggressive, pinned her down and raped her.
The assaults occurred on Pin Mill Brow and Palmerston Street in Ancoats, Manchester
We have continued to support the victim involved in these incidents since they were reported to us, and in recent months, she has felt comfortable enough to bravely assist in the creation of an e-fit image of a suspect.
Detective Constable Amy Leech from our CID North Manchester said: “This was a horrific and deeply distressing incident, which has had a significant impact on the victim.
“Our officers continue to work with the victim to ensure she is supported throughout this process, and I would like to commend her bravery for coming forward to help us identify the individual.
“Tackling violence against women and girls remains a priority for us and we are committed to doing everything we can to bring those responsible to justice.
“We appreciate some time has passed since the assault and we have been carrying out extensive enquiries. The image provided has recently become available for our investigation, and we are now appealing for the public’s help to identify him.”
