Police are appealing for information after a robbery at a hospital on Stott Lane, Salford at the beginning of February

At around 3.10pm on Thursday 2nd police were called to reports of two men entering an office at the rear of a hospital café and demanding that a staff member tells them where the money is kept.

The offenders then stole a bag containing a large quantity of cash, before fleeing the area.

The first man is described as white, in his mid to late 40s, and of average build. He has blue eyes and was wearing black clothing, a woollen hat and black material covering the lower part of his face. He spoke with a Liverpool accent.

The second man is described as white, in his mid 40s, of slim build, with facial hair. He was wearing dark clothing, a hat and a jacket with a logo saying “cope”. He was also carrying a bag.

Officers have released a CCTV image in a bid to identify a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

Detective Constable Andrew Quinn, of GMP’s Salford Borough, said: “These men have put an innocent shop assistant through a distressing ordeal and stolen a large amount of cash, from a hospital of all places.

“The men probably stood out as they were dressed all in dark clothing and hats on a Thursday afternoon.

“If anyone recognises the man in the CCTV image or has any other information that may help us then I urge you to get in touch.”
