Plans have been submitted to Tameside Metropolitan Council for the transformational redevelopment of a key brownfield site in the heart of Stalybridge.

The plans from the developer Bankfoot APAM in conjunction with the Greater Manchester Pension Fund include new residential accommodation, ground-floor commercial space, improved public realm, and enhanced connections to surrounding neighbourhoods

The proposal seeks to deliver 102 high-quality homes across a mix of tenures, focused on meeting the needs of young families, key workers, and young professionals. The scheme blends a variety of 1, 2, and 3-bedroom apartments and townhouses, forming a vibrant, sustainable neighbourhood close to the town centre.

“This is an important site for Stalybridge – one that can act as a catalyst for wider regeneration,” said Andy Day, Senior Director at Bankfoot APAM. “We’re proud to bring forward a plan that addresses genuine housing need while delivering long-term social and environmental benefits for the local community.”
