Plans for a twenty three bedroom hotel, with bar, restaurant and treatment rooms in Cheadle have been approved.

Bruntwood Hall, whose previous uses included a Town Hall, a racehorse stud farm and more recently by a filming company will be converted into a boutique hotel by Chester based Oddfellows.

It had to be a property with character”, said Sarah Dougherty of Oddfellows. “Oddfellows is well known for its quirky design spin on a beautiful period property, and we wanted our second property to do the same. We love adding vibrancy to a period property that has lost its lustre, but still retains all of its charm. This beautiful mansion had everything we were looking for.”

The 19th century property stands in one hundred acre grounds and was built for the industrialist Mr John Douglas and his wife and was named Bruntwood after the name of the village in Ayrshire where Mrs Douglas was born.

“Oddfellows On The Park will offer something completely different to our Chester site. We’ll be based in affluent South Manchester, close to the airport, with the most stunning grounds and outlook we could ask for – that will make us not only a weekend destination but also a beautiful wedding venue. It is an exciting step forward for us.”
