A man believed to be in his forties has died after being hit by a car in Stockport yesterday evening
The accident happened around 7.50 when silver Mercedes ML travelling along Churchgate when it turned left into Silk Close when it was involved in a collision with a pedestrian.
Emergency services attended but despite best efforts, the man was later pronounced dead in hospital.
His family has been informed and they are being supported by specially trained officers.
While enquiries into the collision are ongoing, officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision and anyone who saw the man prior to the incident to come forward.
He is described as white, around 5ft 10in tall, of slim build and was wearing tracksuit bottoms and a dark coloured top.
