A man, reportedly in a wheelchair, has been killed after being hit by a HGV in Openshaw earlier this afternoon.
The incident happened around 4.00pm on Ashton old Road near to the junction with Lime Square and the pedestrian whose age and identity is so far unknown, died at the scene.
There have been no arrests
A number of road closures are in place as enquires are being carried out and commuters are advised to avoid the area where possible.
