Rooted in Mancunian soul, Dooley and Rostron is the latest venture from Adam Dooley, owner of Manchester’s long standing tailor that graced Princess street for over fifty years with a client list containing the likes of Andy Burnham and Mikael Silvestre.

2021 saw new beginnings for Frank Rostron Bespoke Shirtmakers, rebranding as Dooley & Rostron and having their logo designed by the noted Manchester icon Peter Saville CBE, the artist responsible for Burberry’s latest rebrand and artwork for the likes of Joy Division.

Dooley & Rostron has opened its brand new flagship store and factory located on King Street after the retail space underwent a quarter of a million pound refurbishment as well as a new website that breaks boundaries within the tailoring industry with the use of the latest virtual body sizing technology available via their website’s tailoring services.

The brand upholds the heritage Frank Rostron Bespoke Shirtmakers was so loved for – steeped in a rich history of luxury tailoring, handcrafting the finest bespoke shirts and handmade suits with luxury fabrics sourced from the likes of Loro Piana and Thomas Mason expertly crafted by some of the finest mills in the world.

The renowned tailors opened its doors on Monday 12 April to welcome shoppers after the refurbishment, elevating the traditional shopping and browsing experience. Instantly customers are greeted by the smell of freshly ground coffee from its front of store coffee bar, Factory Coffee. Factory Coffee serves hot or cold coffees using its unique blend roasted by the award winning North Star Coffee Roasters alongside sweet goods from its very own local micro baker, ‘Factory Baked’. The goods can be enjoyed within the store whilst browsing, or, outside under Dooley & Rostron’s outdoor terrace on the pedestrian square of King Street West.

Once within the store, customers will be able to see first hand Dooley & Rostron’s very own workshop where shoppers can watch the masters perform their trade in its open factory downstairs. The manufacturing department contains some of the finest tailors from across the globe specialising in all aspects of garment making.

Alongside the store opening, the brand has launched its new website expanding its offerings and reflecting the new identity working with The Landing Page Guys to create a bespoke and seamless user experience with its state of the art technology in the form of it’s at home, virtual body sizing technology meaning users can take all measurements within the comfort of their own home using an app.

Adam Dooley founder of Dooley & Rostron says: “Watching this rebrand come to life has been incredible. Everyone in some capacity is ready for a fresh start and we’re no different. I’m beyond thrilled to welcome people through the doors and have the ability to witness our craftsmanship firsthand.”

Customers can choose from two services: Bespoke and Ready To Wear. The Bespoke service offers a completely personal experience. Firstly, customers will require a fitting. This can take place at home with one of the brand’s visiting tailors or by using Dooley & Rostron’s state of the art virtual tailoring service. Alternatively, the expert tailors can take measurements in-store. Each part of the process is customised from head-to-toe from various fabric choices to finishes. The bespoke garment is then ready for a fitting up to three to four weeks later.

Secondly, Dooley & Rostron offers its Ready to Wear range consisting of suits, trousers,  shoes and polo shirts. Customers are simply required to select their fit and the seamstresses and cutters will get to work on handcrafting their garment in the Manchester factory.

The store is located on 38 King St W, Manchester M3 2WZ and is open Monday – Saturday, 10am – 6pm and Sunday by appointment only, out of hours appointments available on request. Dooley & Rostron’s website is now live and can be found at www.dooleyandrostron.com
