The Health Secretary Sawid Javid says there are “no guarantees” in the pandemic when asked if he was ruling out new restrictions before Christmas

Speaking on the Andrew Marr show on The BBC he said that ministers are challenging scientific data and considering wider factors before bringing in more measures adding that “If we wait until the data is perfect, it may well be too late”

He confirmed that Parliament be recalled before any new lockdown is imposed – and would have to approve it.

Doing the media rounds this morning he said that those who aren’t vaccinated are really having a “damaging effect”

“They must really think about the damage they are doing to society – they take up hospital beds which could be used for someone with a heart problem.” said the health Secretary

‘If we look at those that are the most ill in hospital needing the most care and attention, around 9 out of 10 of them are unvaccinated’
