A 19-year old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and remains in custody following an incident in Brinnington last night
Police were called to an address at Dent Close, Lapwing Lane, to a disturbance involving reports of a suspected firearms discharge. There were no injuries reported in relation to the matter and officers are continuing enquiries in order to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
As part of the investigation, five men, aged between 17 and 45 were arrested on suspicion of affray and have since been bailed.
Three properties in the Stockport area were raided the early hours of this morning in which the 19-year old man was arrested
Detective Sergeant Kirsty Pierce from Stockport CID said: “We understand incidents of this nature can cause concern within the community and, whilst there are several lines of enquiry ongoing, this is believed to be an isolated incident.
