One of the north west’s biggest and most successful business parks is set to grow as a new 216,000 sq ft unit, Kingsway 216, nears completion.
A number of businesses have already shown an interest in moving into the development, which will be complete in July 2016, with the unit particularly well suited to logistics and distribution companies.

4 further units, known as plot K, each between 35,000 and 75,000 sq ft in size, are due for completion in December 2016.

The business park, which recently played host to Rochdale MP, Simon Danczuk, is run by the Kingsway Partnership, which consists of Rochdale Borough Council, Rochdale Development Agency (RDA), Wilson Bowden Developments Ltd and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

Mr Danczuk said: “It was a pleasure to visit Kingsway Business Park and it was really encouraging to see the project developing so well and progress being made.

“Credit to Wilson Bowden for staying the course during tough economic times and for showing enthusiasm for further investment in our town. This is really positive news for Rochdale.”

Around 73 new homes, in a range of sizes and styles, could also be built close to the site, with a planning application set to be determined in autumn this year.

Councillor Richard Farnell, leader of the council, said: “Kingsway continues to grow and create jobs for local people and these speculative developments demonstrate a high level of investor confidence in Rochdale.

“We already have strong interest in Kingsway 216 and the 4 units set to be finished later this year will help us attract more logistics, distribution and manufacturing companies into the borough.”

A number of businesses have already set up on Kingsway, including JD Sports, which employs around 2,000 people at its European distribution hub on the site.

WCCTV, which supplies organisations in the UK and abroad with CCTV systems and body cameras, recently moved their global headquarters to Kingsway.
