Great North Pie Co, the home of high-quality, award-winning pies, is officially opening its kitchen & bar at Kampus on Monday 27th February.
The first Manchester city centre-based home of Great North Pie Co offers a cosy and intimate space to enjoy a modern take on traditional pie and mash. There’s booth-style seating for 20-covers inside and an outdoor area seating up to 30-covers overlooking the Kampus garden and canal.
The menu features a short but perfectly formed selection of seasonal pies, including some delicious vegetarian varieties, plus a wide range of sides including buttery mash, shredded red cabbage, crushed peas and homestyle chips. There’ll also be weekly comfort food specials such as corned beef hash and – the inaugural special lamb and pea steamed suet puddings.
If you have any room left after that lot, desserts include school dinner-style sweet treats like chocolate sponge and custard. The bar offers a carefully selected drinks menu to compliment the pies with IPA from Track brewery and Manchester Union Brewery lger on draft. There’s a well curated wine list which complements the pies perfectly as well as a couple of refreshing spritzers and soft drinks.
It’s not just puddings and pies though, breakfast sandwiches will be served daily between 10:30am and 2:30pm, featuring quality versions of all the breakfast classics including Cheshire Smokehouse honey-cured bacon and Stornoway black pudding.
Great North Pie Co’s range of handcrafted pies, which have previously been voted the Best Pie in Britain, will also beavailable to take away cold, ready to be heated at home. – ideal for picking up on your way to Piccadilly Train Station.
Although this is their first city centre place, Great North Pie Co also has venues in Lake District’s Ambleside and Altrincham Market. Its products can also be found at monthly farmers markets, where they started the business, in locations such as Urmston, Knutsford, Northwich, Altrincham, Chester, Wilmslow, Chorlton, Bakewell, Macclesfield and West Didsbury.
The award-winning pie brand supplies pubs and restaurants nationwide and supplies the likes of Booths, Robinsons’s Brewery, Dukeshill Hams, Manchester City Football Club, Stockport County FC, and other popular pubs and restaurants across the country.
The Kampus venue welcomes walk-ins and is open for bookings for large groups on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Monday – Wednesday, 10:30am-6pm
Thursday – Saturday, 10:30am-10:00pm
Sunday – 10:30am-6pm
