Museum of Illusions is celebrating the first birthday of its debut UK attraction in Manchester this September by giving away free tickets to anyone who shares its birthday month.
Since opening on Market Street in 2024, Museum of Illusions has welcomed more than 200,000 visitors to experience its 65+ mind-bending illusions and interactive exhibits. As the first UK location of the global brand, the Manchester site is the second-largest Museum of Illusions in Europe, following Copenhagen, and has quickly established itself as one of the city’s top attractions in the competitive experiential leisure market.

To celebrate, visitors born in September can enjoy free entry to the museum from Monday 22nd September to Friday 3rd October (excluding weekends). To claim this limited birthday treat, visitors will need to show a valid ID to access this offer.
To mark the milestone, the museum will also be dressed for the occasion, adding a birthday touch to its already captivating mix of optical illusions and immersive, interactive exhibits.
Loved by locals, tourists and families, the museum blends fun and education for visitors of all ages. Highlights include the Infinity Room, a kaleidoscopic space where imagination runs wild, the Vortex Tunnel, an exhilarating experience that challenges balance and a variety of holograms and illusions that push the limits of perception. The museum is fully accessible, ensuring everyone can enjoy the fun.
Steve Buchan, General Manager at the museum, said: “Manchester has truly embraced the Museum of Illusions, and we’re so grateful for all the support we’ve had in our first year. Welcoming over 200,000 visitors in just 12 months has been incredible.
“Free tickets to anyone celebrating their birthday in September feels like the perfect way to give something back. It’s our way of saying thank you for the INCREDIBLE support – and of course, to invite even more people to experience the fun, curiosity and wonder the museum brings.”
Looking ahead, Museum of Illusions Manchester plans to enhance its offering further. Later this year, a new digital guide will provide a deeper, science-led exploration of illusions, alongside expanded partnerships with schools and community groups. The museum also plans to regularly update its exhibits, ensuring every visit remains dynamic, surprising, and full of new experiences.
With more than 60 sites across 28 countries and over 25 million visitors worldwide, Museum of Illusions continues to expand at pace – and Manchester is proudly at the centre of its UK journey.
