Afflecks is welcoming the Spring holidays this year with a week-long, action packed schedule of daily activities to commemorate some of the amazing cosplayer communities and subcultures within their magical emporium. There’ll be an alternative Easter egg hunt, a fancy dress competition, cosplay parties amongst three Afflecks traders, and a new store opening.

The week of fun will kick off on Easter Monday (10th April) with The Alternative Afflecks Easter Egg Trail. Seven special clues will be dotted across Afflecks’ three maze-like floors. Each egg found will include a letter needed for the secret password; once this is solved, fans will be able to redeem their chocolatey, gooey reward: a Cadbury’s Creme Egg! To take part in the hunt shoppers should head to the Tib Street or Oldham Street entrance to pick up their treasure hunt sheet.

There’s also an Afflecks voucher, worth up to £50, up for grabs for any fancy dress fanatics on Wednesday 12th April when Afflecks is hosting its very own cosplay competition. Anyone who wants to be in with a chance of winning should head up to the first floor and locate the specially made selfie frame, before taking a picture of their dazzling cosplay-character outfit and uploading it to Instagram. And don’t forget to tag @afflecks_manchester! The winner will be announced via Instagram.

Japanese Fashion clothing brand, Tokyo Go, is also set to land in Afflecks on Thursday 13th April and will be bringing their super cute and quirky kawaii-inspired garments to Afflecks’ emporium. The team will be throwing a launch party and have invited some very special cosplay influencers to join them.

Fellow kawaii gifts and stationery retailer Concerned Sprout will be selling special Sprout Selection Boxes on Sunday 16th April. Fans can choose any 5 items from the shop for just £7.99.

The manga maids over at Animaid Cafe will also be throwing their own anime themed party. They’ll be hosting a Pokemon drawing competition on Saturday 15th April for all the Pikachu lovers. Staying on theme, Card Empire, who specialises in trading Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards, are offering a ‘Card Millionaire’ session. Anyone who collects these cards and wants to know their worth should pop over to the Card Empire team. Some of these cards can go for thousands of pounds, so it might just be your lucky day. The ‘Card Millionaire’ session is taking place on Friday 14th April.

Whether you’re a superfan or casually like your comics, there’s loads of fun activities going on for the whole family to enjoy.
