Over recent years, there have been numerous celebrities releasing their own makeup lines. Fans all over the world flock to buy products in the hope that they can get the A-lister look too.

Celebrities often spend hours in the makeup chair, so it comes at no surprise that some of them wanted to put their expertise to use.

Beauty experts Cosmetify recently carried out research to find the most popular celebrity beauty brands in the UK. The results were based on the brands most searched for online in mid-2021.

Whilst some brands disappear into the background, some celebrities manage to make a lasting impact on the cosmetics industry.

What are the most popular celebrity beauty brands in the UK?

Many celebrities have dabbled in the cosmetics industry, but the brands featured on this list stand out amongst the crowd. The famous names behind them might have given the products a ready-made fan base, but these celebrity beauty brands are respected and admired on their own merit in the cosmetics industry.

Celebrities such as Rihanna, Kylie Jenner and Millie Bobby Brown have created cosmetic empires, with products being sold all over the world.

Fenty Beauty

When American singer, Rihanna, announced that she was launching a cosmetics range in 2017, fans were understandably excited. The Umbrella singer didn’t disappoint and her beauty brand has fast become one of the most popular in the world.

Fenty Beauty, stylised as FEИTY BEAUTY, has proven especially popular amongst people of colour due to the wide range of foundation shades. There has been a significant lack of representation in the cosmetics industry over the years, which was something that Rihanna wanted to address. At present, Fenty Beauty boasts 50 shades of foundation and concealer.

The products are made in the USA and are available in over 100 countries. Fenty’s launch in Harvey Nichols became the department store’s biggest beauty launch ever.

The brand is 100% cruelty-free. Whilst some Fenty Beauty products do contain ingredients of animal origin, Fenty Skin is completely vegan.

Some of Fenty Beauty bestsellers include the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, which is available in 50 shades. Rihanna also handpicked the three shades in the Gloss Goalz Universal Lip Luminizer 3-pc set, which contains conditioning Shea butter.

Kylie Cosmetics

Although the Kardashian-Jenner family are a bit like Marmite, there’s no denying that Kylie Jenner is a powerhouse in the cosmetics industry.

It all started with the launch of the Kylie Lip Kits in 2015. The initial stock, priced at $29 each, sold out in under a minute. Since then, the company has re-branded itself as Kylie Cosmetics and expanded to sell a range of others products, including foundation, highlighter and eyeshadow.

Kylie has collaborated with a number of celebrities, namely her equally famous sisters, Kim and Khloe Kardashian. The collection Kendall By Kylie Cosmetics, which was a collaboration between Kylie and her sister, Kendall, sold out within 24 hours.

Kylie Cosmetics bestsellers include the Kylie Matte Lip Kits, which promises up to eight-hour wear. The Pressed Blush Powder, another best-seller, comes in colours such as Baddie On The Block and Winter Kissed.

Florence by Mills

Although she’s only 17 years old, actress Millie Bobby Brown has added a beauty range to her already impressive CV. The products are popular amongst teenagers, but Millie has previously said that she hopes that her products will appeal to all ages.

The products are cruelty-free and vegan. They also feature no parabens or sulfates. The products are full of vitamins, antioxidants, and botanicals and are suitable for all skin types.

Florence by Mills’ released a new blue light range in August 2021. The products are meant to protect skin against the blue light that is emitted from electronic devices. The artificial light can cause skin damage, such as discolouring or ageing.

One of Florence by Mills best sellers is the Skincare Besties Set Vol. 2, which includes the full Florence skincare routine, such as the Clean Magic Face Wash and Dreamy Dew Moisturizer.

Goop Beauty

Hollywood actress, Gwyneth Paltrow, has become famous for her unorthodox wellbeing and beauty regimes. She founded the wellness and lifestyle brand, Goop, in 2008 and released her first clean skin-care line in 2016.

As with the rest of the Goop brand, Goop Beauty is based on clean and organic living. The cosmetic products are made from non-toxic formulas and contain minerals and vitamins.

Some of Goop’s best selling products include the Goopglow Microderm instant Glow Exfoliator. The cream contains four micro-exfoliating minerals that are meant to leave skin looking and feeling smoother.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics

YouTube is full of beauty vloggers and one of the most successful channels is run by Jeffrey Lynn Steininger Jr, otherwise known as Jeffree Star.

Jeffree Star founded his own cosmetics brand in 2014. The initial release was a collection of three Velour liquid lipsticks. The brand is now estimated to make a profit of $100 million annually and sells products such as setting powders, highlighters and concealers.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics latest collection is called Pink Religion and features eyeshadows, lipsticks and a face mist called Holy Mist.

Kylie Skin

Not only is Kylie Jenner dominating the celebrity makeup market with Kylie Cosmetics, but she’s also branched out into skincare too. The products aren’t as expensive as other celebrity beauty brands but Kylie’s empire has still raked in around $1 billion.

The Kylie Skin range includes serums, moisturisers and cleansers, all in iconic baby pink packaging. Kylie has released several YouTube videos to show fans how she incorporates the products into her everyday routine.

All of the Kylie Skin products are cruelty-free, vegan and gluten-free. The reality television star has also marketed her products as suitable for all skin types, although there are plans to expand and add more skin-specific lines.

Kylie Skin was launched in the UK in September 2020, a year after it was released in the States. You can buy the full six-piece regime set for £133 on the official website. The set includes Foaming Face Wash, Walnut Face Scrub, Vanilla Milk Toner, Vitamin C Serum, Face Moisturiser and Eye Cream.

Victoria Beckham

Posh Spice may have had a highly successful music career and own a popular fashion label, but she didn’t want to stop there. Victoria Beckham released her own cosmetics line in 2019, following a successful collaboration with Estée Laude in 2016.

Victoria Beckham has approached the production of her makeup brand with the hope of filling the gaps that she found in her own beauty regime. Working alongside beauty executive Sarah Creal, Victoria Beckham have set out to create high-quality products that are sustainable and luxurious.

Victoria Beckham has a ‘clean and lean approach’, which means that the ingredients and products are ethically sourced and environmentally friendly. The products are constantly reviewed to make sure that they are allergy safe and don’t contain any toxins.

Thanks to its non-clumping, conditioning formula, the Future Lash Mascara is amongst Victoria Beckham’s best selling products. The Bitten Lip Tint is also a popular alternative to heavier lipsticks.

Kora Organics

Australian model, Miranda Kerr, launched Kora Organics in 2009. The range was originally exclusive to Australian department store, David Jones, but is now available in over 30 countries.

Miranda Kerr studied Nutrition and Health Psychology at the Academy of Natural Living in Australia and strives to sell products that “detoxify, nourish and revitalize your skin” with natural and organic ingredients.

The product packaging contains messages of positivity and encouragement to take time for yourself. The products are also filtered through rose quartz crystals, to collect a soothing energy during the manufacturing process.

Noni Glow Face Balm is a popular product, as is the Turmeric Brightening and Exfoliating Mask. The noni fruit is organic and a certified ‘superfruit’, full of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.

Wander Beauty

Wander Beauty is the brainchild of entrepreneur Divya Gugnani and supermodel Lindsay Ellingson. The brand has collected over 30 awards in the five years since it was launched. It also has many celebrity followers such as Heidi Klum and Emma Roberts.

All Wander Beauty products are free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates, mineral oil and synthetic fragrance. Their website contains a list of blacklisted ingredients that is regularly updated. Wander Beauty also use sustainable, environmentally-friendly packaging.

Some of the best selling products include the Mile High Club Volume and Length Mascara, Wanderlust Powder Foundation and Sight C-er Vitamin C Concentrate.

Jaclyn Cosmetics

Jaclyn Hill is the second YouTuber to feature on this list. The American vlogger has millions of subscribers on her channel and has also enjoyed popularity with her cosmetics range, which was launched in 2019.

The cosmetics brand has faced some controversy but was relaunched in March 2021 to positive reviews. Some of the products in the March release sold out within minutes of the launch.

The new collection features popular products such as the Prep Starter Hydrating Under Eye Primer and the Face It All Brightening & Setting Palette.
