Morrisons is launching a food store that is part grocery and part takeaway in Manchester’s Piccadilly Gardens with the creation of 50 new chef and front of house roles.
The new format means that customers can have their breakfast, lunch or evening meal freshly made-to-order by a chef, at the same time as popping in for a pint of milk. What’s more, customers don’t even need to leave their house to enjoy the meals as they can have the food delivered to their doorstep via Deliveroo.
In store, customers can choose to watch their meal be made-to-order by the chefs using seasonal ingredients or opt to pick up some of the freshly made ‘ready-to-go’ meals. The menu includes:
- Char & Smoke – where customers can create their own wraps or rice bowls for £5
- The Hot Pan – where each day a different dish will be made ranging from risottos, paellas and curries through to local hot pots for £4
- The Kitchen – where customers can opt for popular classics such as pie and mash, lasagne and Hunters Chicken or treat themselves to pizza by the metre from £4
- Fresh porridge served with a choice of fillings until 11.00am from £1
- Seasonal soups from the Soup Kitchen served after 11.30am for £1.50
- A barista bar selling freshly ground coffee and pastries from £0.75.
A catering menu is also available for local businesses or larger groups with items such as a Chicken Wrap Box serving six for £15 or a Hot Sandwich Breakfast Box for six priced at £12.
Morrisons Market Kitchen is also running an introductory offer of 50% off all purchases made in store until 6th September.

It means that customers can pop in and pick up their next meal while also buying the groceries they need for future meals. And, thanks to our partnership with Deliveroo, customers across Manchester will be able to enjoy their favourite dishes from our menu without leaving their kitchen.”
Market Kitchen orders can be placed through the Deliveroo app or website and will usually occur at a small delivery charge of £4.50, however for a limited time only between Thursday 27th August and Tuesday 1st September, we are offering free delivery. In as little as 30 minutes, customers can conveniently enjoy delicious Market Kitchen dishes from the comfort of their own home.
