Merseyway Shopping Centre is inviting families to enjoy a garden party to celebrate the launch of Wisteria Walk- a beautiful flower-filled installation featuring thousands of wisteria vines that will be located throughout the centre until late October.
On Saturday 6th April, the Mayor of Stockport will officially open Wisteria Walk and begin the celebrations from 11am. Families will be able to take part in croquet competitions with her royal highness, The Queen of Hearts, to be in with a chance of winning a £50 voucher and enjoy live music, face painting and cakes and sweet treats throughout the day*.
Butterfly stilt walkers will be entertaining the crowds and local dancers from Cheshire Theatre School will also be performing to raise funds for their forthcoming championships in Portugal, where they will represent England in the Dance World Cup.
To launch Merseyway’s new Instagram page, visitors can also snap a photo on the wisteria swing seat and share it on social media using the hashtag #wisteriawalk to be in with a chance of winning a bouquet of flowers.
Centre Manager, Victoria Nichol said “Wisteria Walk is a beautiful installation that will bring a touch of spring and vibrancy into the centre and we’re confident it will be a real spectacle for Stockport in the upcoming months. It’s the perfect backdrop for shoppers to come and snap and share photos and we encourage everyone to come to the Garden Party and take advantage of the fun activities taking place to celebrate this fantastic addition to Merseyway.”
