Following last year’s success, the award-winning team behind Manchester’s acclaimed El Gato Negro, Habas and Canto, has re-opened its Christmas Gift Shop, offering last minute shoppers a selection beautiful gift boxes which would be perfect for food and wine lovers.
Master of Wine, Miles Corish, who works closely with Chef Patron and Creative Director Simon Shaw, has created a selection of incredible wine boxes. One of only 415 experts in the world to hold the title, and one of only a handful in the region, his choices are ones to be trusted.
Catering for a variety of budgets (ranging from £20 to £100), the beautifully packaged gift boxes feature a selection of each restaurant’s most popular pours, presented in a custom-created wooden box.
Fans of multi-award-winning Spanish tapas restaurant El Gato Negro, can also purchase a number of special kitchen essentials including a premium quality apron, adorned with the restaurant’s iconic black cat mascot (£17), and a stocking-filler sized El Gato Negro wine bottle opener (£7.50).
Gift vouchers for any of the restaurants can also be bought online with the option to include a personal message. Stylishly presented in a branded wallet and available in any denomination over £10, the restaurants’ magnetic gift cards are a great option for those looking to continue the celebrations into the New Year.
All El Gato Negro, Habas and Canto gift boxes are available for order and collection from the restaurants. As demand is expected to be high, interested parties are encouraged to call in advance to confirm availability and arrange collection.
El Gato Negro on King Street is open Monday – Sunday 12:00 late (last sitting 22:00). Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are advised to avoid disappointment. The restaurant will be closed on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day and on January 1st-2nd , reopening on January 3rd .
Canto opens Monday – Thursday 17:00 – late, Friday-Sunday 12:00 – late (last sitting at 22:00) and will be closed on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day and on January 1st-2nd. As ever, reservations are advised.
Habas opens Monday – Wednesday 12:00 – 23:00. Thursday – Saturday 12:00 – 02:00 and Sunday 12:00 – 21:00. The restaurant and bar will be closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and on 1st-2nd January, reopening on January 3rd . Advance reservations are preferred, but tables are also available for walk-ins.
No reservations are required for The Bar.
For diners looking for small and large plates with big flavour in January, El Gato Negro, Canto and Habas promise to deliver with a range of special money saving dining incentives.
Continuing the season of good will into the new year, acclaimed King Street restaurant El Gato Negro is inviting guests to enjoy three small plates for just £18 when dining Sunday to Thursday. The offer presents incredible value, with diners encouraged to book in advance to secure their place at the multiple-award-winning venue. The incentive is limited to parties of up to six.
Sibling Mediterranean tapas restaurant and bar Canto which is serving its three for £18 menu every Sunday to Friday. Dressed in soft white lights and with views straight out onto Cutting Room Square, this popular Ancoats eaterie is an ideal venue for a new year social with friends.
Tipsy Tapas – Canto’s exclusive take on a bottomless brunch – has been extended. The special event invites diners to enjoy three small plates and select unlimited drinks for 90-minutes for just £38pp. It is available from 12pm to 4pm every Saturday throughout January with advance bookings encouraged to avoid disappointment.
Not to be left out, Habas, is inviting guests to enjoy two courses for £20 or three for just £24 when dining from its special menu between 5pm and 10pm every Tuesday to Thursday throughout January.
The modern Middle Eastern restaurant, recently crowned Newcomer of the Year at the This Is Manchester Awards, is also extending its popular lunch menu to kick start the year, available from 12pm to 6pm every Tuesday to Friday and 12pm to 5pm every Friday throughout January. Both offers are available for parties of up to fifteen, perfect for small businesses and friends looking to host their annual get together in the new year or simply kick 2023 off in style.
