Freya, a 2-year old Sprocker spaniel from Manchester, has shot to fame as the star of a new advertising campaign for fresh dog food brand, Butternut Box.

Following a nationwide competition, which saw proud dog parents across the UK submit funny, endearing and entertaining videos of their pups in the thousands, Freya was selected to become the furry face of Manchester’s latest billboard campaign.

With the belief that every dog deserves to be celebrated, the competition winners were not chosen lightly. However, the fizzing Freya stood out for her cheeky antics, popularity in the community and overall paw-some qualities.

true Mancunian, Freya is passionate, friendly and loyal, with super skills including jumping through hoops, climbing trees and even cleaning up her own toys!

When she isn’t running rings around the city, Freya, who has her own Instagram account, practices trick training with her pet parents, Nikola Grodzicka and Arek Zontek, aged 26.

The childhood sweethearts are originally from Poland but have spent most of their lives in the North West city, where they met in Year 7.

The cocker/springer spaniel mix stars in the Butternut Box out-of-home campaign alongside 10 other good boys and girls across the UK and Republic of Ireland, who were each chosen for their individual “wow factor.”

The winning pooches have each gone on to represent their own cities in the international advertising campaign, which calls on dog owners to unleash the benefits of a fresh diet for dogs, which include healthier skin, a shinier coat and improved gut health.

The campaign is live at 39 sites and can be spotted at bus shelters, shopping centres and railway stations – including Manchester Piccadilly train station.

One lucky pup will also be chosen for a starring role in the brand’s new TV advertisement this year, giving the Dulux dog and Andrex puppy a run for their money. It could be Freya chosen for the lead role, so watch this space!
